The Making of J. S. Mill's <i>Collected Works</i>, and Its Aftermath

Abstract In 1973, a conference was held in Toronto to mark the bicentenary of James Mill's birth and centenary John Stuart death. By that time, had emerged as centre Mill studies. Between 1963 University Press published, scholarly edition, eleven volumes Collected works . A further twenty-two would appear eighteen years followed. Only two nine presenters at 1973 were members Philosophy Department.
